In August, we welcomed Will Boye as our new Senior Public Relations Executive and Top Drake. In his role, he’s responsible for leading public relations on behalf of YDM’s clients.
A Maryland native, Will spent 20 years in journalism before moving into public relations, starting his career with ABC News in Atlanta and moving to Charlotte in 1999 to join Charlotte Magazine as a senior editor. Will later pivoted into business journalism and worked for Institutional Investor Newsletters in Washington D.C., covering regulatory issues affecting the capital markets. He returned to Charlotte in 2003 to cover banking and finance for the Charlotte Business Journal, serving as the paper’s real estate reporter during his last seven years of his 12-year tenure.
Will left the CBJ to open a Charlotte office for an Atlanta-based public relations firm, working with national and regional clients in the commercial real estate and professional services sectors on media relations, content, social media and thought leadership.
Will holds an undergraduate degree from Davidson College, a graduate degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Queens University. His education and excellent experience made him a natural fit with the team!
Will lives with his wife Kristen and two sons, Jack (9) and Ben (7), in south Charlotte, where he is patiently waiting for a neighborhood microbrewery. He still likes to read the print edition on weekends, and believes that The Wire is the greatest television show ever made.
